Local Food Britain is delighted to announce it is organising its very first Food & Drink Festival on Saturday 15 September, 2018.
For the first time, the food network of London and the south east will bring together around 45 of its members in beautiful Surrey countryside at its Priory Farm, Nutfield, base to create a show that will stimulate the senses of food lovers.
The event will showcase artisan bread makers, wine producers, butchers, distillers, ingredients suppliers and much more.
“Whilst we have been involved in events in the past, it has long been our wish to organise a food festival of our own, so that my team and I can be truly creative,” says Tracy Carroll, founder of Local Food Britain. “We are really enjoying putting together some great ideas so that visitors can immerse themselves in the sight, smell and taste of food and drink made by producers from across the south east.
“September is a fantastic time of year to celebrate all that this corner of Britain has to offer in quality food and drink, and I am very excited that, for the first time, we can bring so many of our members together in the beautiful surroundings of Priory Farm's Discovery Walk - it really is a unique venue and we intend to make the most of it.”
Among those taking part will be artisan bakery Chalk Hills Bakery, who have a shop in Reigate; Greyfriars Vineyard with their award-winning English wines; and Bake with Jack (pictured), who runs bread-making workshops across Surrey.
As well as hopping aboard a vintage bus to listen to food talks, visitors will be able to nibble and sip their way around the festival and have one-to-one chats with the producers. There are also plans for a ticketed pop-up outdoor eating experience.
The festival will be open from 10am to 4pm; entry is £2 per person, and free for children aged under 16, and includes entry to Priory Farm's Discovery Walk (normally £3 per person). A 25% donation of all ticket sales will go to a local charity.
