The only thing better than freshly baked bread is bread freshly baked by you - that's what Jack Sturgess, the dynamic young baker behind Bake With Jack, wants to show you. Jack's enthusiasm for dough knows no bounds, and when you join one of his classes or have a bread-making workshop he wants to leave you feeling the same way.

What's great about Bake With Jack?

Jack hosts breadmaking experiences in your own home, using natural ingredients with no added 'funny business' to create your choice of delicious breads. There's an introductory class for beginners, or you can choose to learn the art of Italian bread making, artisan or rustic bakery techniques and even how to make bread with beer.

You can also Bake With Jack at one of his regular classes in Woking - check the website for forthcoming dates, and book online. Whether at home or in a group session, Jack will guide you through making accompaniments so you can enjoy a delicious supper at the end of the class with your very own bread.

As a trained chef, Jack's mission is to inspire his baking students to use their imagination instead of just showing them what to do, so they can create their own bread or pastry at home rather than buying mass-produced loaves or ready-roll. "I want people to really get to grips with the ingredients, processes and principles of baking and take away the fear of getting it wrong," he says. "It's a lot of fun to muck about with dough!"

If you're interested in learning to Bake With Jack at home, he runs bread baking classes in Surrey, Hampshire, London, Sussex, Kent, and Berkshire. You can also buy gift vouchers for baking fans - the classes make a perfect Christmas or birthday gift.

Local Food Surrey says

Jack's enthusiasm for baking is infectious, so you couldn't be in better hands to learn all about bread making. He's also a proud supporter of the Real Bread Campaign, which means he'll teach you how to make bread using natural ingredients and traditional methods, with no added nasties.

You can't get much more local than bread you've made yourself at home, and we love Jack's inspiring attitude to teaching others - a real local food champion.
