Naturally produced organic wines are gaining popularity and, according to the wine experts, are worth every extra penny.

Organic wine is made from grapes grown following the organic method, which excludes the use of artificial chemical fertilizers, weed-killers or insecticides. It has also met certain standards set by a government agency, although each country has its own set of standards.

Wine making techniques should also be organic, with little or no manipulation of wines by reverse osmosis, excessive filtration or flavour additives such as oak chips. Some winemakers also use wild yeasts for fermentation.

Many English wines are made using organic methods, and it is partly for this reason that the English wine industry is such enjoying such success at the moment.
