Local Food Britain is delighted to announce it is joining forces with Guildford entertainment venue G Live to launch a Festival of Fine Food & Drink on Sunday September 10.
For the first time, the food network of London and the south east will bring together around 50 of its members to create a show that will stimulate the senses of food lovers.
The event will showcase artisan bread makers, wine producers, butchers, fruit and vegetable growers, ingredients suppliers and much more.
“This is no ordinary food festival,” says Tracy Carroll, founder of Local Food Britain. “We are working with the team at G Live to create a full programme of master classes, including wine and butchery, so that visitors can immerse themselves in the sight, smell and taste of food and drink made by producers from across the south east.
“September is a fantastic time of year to celebrate all that this corner of Britain has to offer in quality food and drink, and I am very excited that, for the first time, we can demonstrate this bounty under one roof.”
Among those taking part will be artisan bakery Chalk Hills Bakery, who have a shop in Reigate; Albury Organic Vineyard with their award-winning organic wines; and Bake with Jack (pictured), who runs bread-making workshops across Surrey.
As well as taking part in masterclasses, visitors will be able to nibble and sip their way around the festival and have one-to-one chats with the producers.
“We are delighted to be working with Local Food Britain to create G Live’s first ever food and drink festival,” says venue director Tim Brinkman. “I am sure with the combination of their quality producers and our unique venue, this festival will become a permanent fixture in food lovers’ calendars.”
The festival will be open from 11am to 4pm; entry is free, but masterclasses will need to be booked in advance. To find out more or to register for your free entry or to book a masterclass, visit www.GLive.co.uk, drop in or call the Ticketing Desk on 01483 369350.
