Overlooking the North Downs in the picturesque Surrey village of Brockham, Ruth’s Little Kitchen is a bijou cookery school and award-winning microbakery. The kitchen is the brainchild of Ruth Macintyre, whose ethos is simple: teach, cook, share, eat. In all her various ventures, her aim is to share her passion for baking and cooking within the community.
Ruth is an award-winning baker, Food Editor at Yours Magazine, experienced demonstrator and recipe developer and one of a handful of qualified Food and Nutrition teachers accepted to be an Approved Activity Provider by the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
Ruth is actively involved in the community, championing local producers, and offering monthly Cook Togethers, in addition to working within schools.
Online classes Ruth has received recent acclaim from Delicious Magazine and other media outlets for her online cookery classes. She is creating three exciting modules for all ages and abilities to learn in their own time, in their own home. Introduction to Baking, Classic Cookery and International Cuisine each contain 12 tried and tested recipes with easy-to-follow videos. These modules have also been approved for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme.
Corporate and bespoke classes are available on request.
Workshops at Ruth’s Little Kitchen With a maximum of four students at a time, Ruth provides a relaxed setting for learning at her cottage. From bread, pasta making, tea time treats, seasonal core skill workshops and corporate get-togethers. Enjoy refreshments as you learn plus a mouthwatering light lunch for workshops of three hours or more. A beautiful 45 minute walk can also be included during your time with Ruth, taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding area.
Charity and collaborations In 2021, Ruth raised over £2,200 for Macmillan and has worked with other charities to help fundraise. She has also worked with big brands on recipe development.
Award-winning bread Ruth is the proud winner of a gold award from the 2019 World Bread Awards and won the South East regional Bread Hero award in 2020 for her bread and work within her community. Her handmade loaves use only the highest quality ingredients including stoneground, organic flour from Shipton Mill in Tetbury.

We promise that we will never, ever pass your details to anyone else or overwhelm you with emails – we send one a month, occasionally two (unless we have something really amazing that we think you will want to know about straightaway!).
And we will always make it really easy for you to unsubscribe – one click, straight from the email. We never want to lose our readers but we know how hugely irritating it is when the unsubscribe facility is made as difficult to use as possible..
