Select a county to find local food

Located at Denbies Wine Estate, just steps away from one of England’s largest single estate vineyards, Village Greens Farm Shop in Dorking sells locally grown and sourced foods from Surrey and surrounding counties.

Owners James and Catherine Dampier left the corporate world to follow their dream of running a produce store with an ethos to celebrate local, natural and ethical food and drink.

Their mission began in 2007 at Coles Lane, near the village of Ockley, but they’ve since expanded to two stores with their farm shop at Denbies completing the family.

As well as shelves stocked full of excellent produce from the surrounding area, Village Greens grows a wide variety of fruit and vegetables, both at Ockley and in the walled garden on the Denbies Estate. They use traditional methods and pick fresh each day for the best possible flavour.

They source from farmers and producers as local to the farm shops as possible and, currently, around 60 of their suppliers are located within a twenty mile radius of their shops.

Visit and you’ll find local free range chicken, meat and sausages; freshly baked local breads and pastries; local cheeses, beers, wines and gins; smoked fish and cold meats; olives, pâtés and dips; local ice cream; organic and fair trade groceries; and seasonal plants.

They host a spring food fair at Denbies Wine Estate every spring and there are often a number of Local Food Britain members showcasing their produce on the day.

Found only a short drive from Surrey beauty spots such as Box Hill and Leith Hill, Village Greens Farm Shop is the perfect place to visit to put together a local food and drink hamper or sort out your week’s shopping.

Their two farm shops are popular havens for local food and drink lovers, and their focus on promoting new start ups as well as established local brands has helped a number of Surrey businesses to grow.
