Tuppenny Barn is a wonderful community project promoting sustainable working practices by teaching people how organically grown produce works in harmony with nature.
Affordable, good quality, organic fruit and vegetables are grown on their smallholding and sold via their shop and through a VegBag scheme.
The shop is open Thursdays 9am - 5pm and Fridays 9am - 4pm. Some of the produce is made into chutneys, cordials, vinegars and other delicious wares to ensure nothing goes to waste.
Also available in season: organic fruit and veg | jam and preserves | vegetable and ornamental plants for your garden | seasonal cut flowers
An Education Centre has been constructed on site to provide purpose-built facilities for local community events and training. Schools will be able to use this excellent facility to give students a 'field to fork' experience, picking the crops on site and preparing them in the kitchen. It will also be available for functions, corporate days and weddings. Please contact Maggie for further details.
Local Food Sussex says
This is a wonderful project which has received fantastic support from the local community, including local restaurants who offer advice and buy the organic produce for their menus. There are some amazing opportunities for volunteers, so if you would like to get involved, do get in touch. Maggie will be happy to give you all the details.
We promise that we will never, ever pass your details to anyone else or overwhelm you with emails – we send one a month, occasionally two (unless we have something really amazing that we think you will want to know about straightaway!).
And we will always make it really easy for you to unsubscribe – one click, straight from the email. We never want to lose our readers but we know how hugely irritating it is when the unsubscribe facility is made as difficult to use as possible..
