Founded by butcher Steve Pearce over 25 years ago, they are particularly renowned for the fine cooked meats that they produce in their onsite kitchen. Over the years, however, they also branched out into a wide range of other speciality foods too.
In any event, whether it’s their award-winning hams, their speciality cheeses or delicious hand-made cakes, they always do whatever they can to source locally.
"It’s important to us because local sourcing supports small businesses and reduces the food miles," says Steve. "As well as being ethical, local food is often very innovative, too, and we work hard to find the most interesting products to satisfy the desire for the next new thing."
On top of all that, their own cooked meats have picked up a host of Great Taste Awards along the way - with their New York Style Pastrami, Southover Plain Dry Gammon and Southover Honey Roast Farmhouse Gammon being among their most recent award winning products.
