Crawley is located near Gatwick Airport so it is a great place to visit for a meal or to stay overnight. The area has been inhabited since the Stone Age and, in Roman times, was an important location for ironworks. It's a busy, buzzy town and there are lots of places to eat in Crawley, with food to suit all palates! It is very easy to get to thanks to an efficient road system and there are lots of coaching inns in the vicinity thanks to the historic trade from Brighton, just 29km south of Crawley.

Did you know that Crawley is famous for pies? These are made by The Real Pie Company. Every pie is hand crafted and 'crammed to the crust' with meat or fruit. They also do terrific sausage rolls and a traditional steamed steak pudding.
