Winchelsea is a beautiful town in East Sussex, located between the High Weald and the Romney Marsh. The town was built on a site of a medieval town. It was founded in 1288 as a port town when Old Winchelsea was lost to the sea, and it became famous in the 13th Century for its wine trade from Gascony.

Winchelsea is a delightful place to visit with a unique character and charm. Visitors are enticed by its rich history, with notable features to explore such as the medieval Church of St Thomas and its museum. There is a pub and a bed and breakfast both serving locally sourced home cooked food, as well as a small coffee shop, tea room, local butchers and delicatessen.
