Lying at the mouth of the Rive Ouse, Newhaven is an East Sussex port town renowned for its annual fish festival. The festival not only serves as a showcase for wonderful local fish and shellfish, but also offers cookery demonstrations, local art displays, music, sports and a children's parade. Away from the fish festival, Newhaven's marina is a thriving hub of activity. There are many sailing, scuba diving, water skiing and surfboarding clubs. If activities on dry land are preferred, the town offers a wealth of maritime and local museums, including the Newhaven Fort.
