Based in the beautiful Sussex countryside in the picturesque hamlet of Shipley, The Country Kitchen is a home bakery and supplier of delicious cakes and biscuits, as well as mouth-watering brownies, slices, and a number of other artisan treats, both sweet and savoury. Owner Philippa Searle strongly believes in ethical baking and supporting the local community, and that in order to eat local, you need to buy local. This is why all of her ingredients are personally sourced and selected from local suppliers and farm shops. For example, only freshly laid free-range chicken and duck eggs from Shipley are used, and local Sussex honey is used to sweeten the ever-popular Healthy Hippie Granola Bars and Banana Breads.
All products are made to the highest standards and come with the added bonus of being low in sugar and fat, which means these extra special treats are even more appetising.
The Country Kitchen bakes for all occasions, such as birthdays and special occasion parties, as well as the smaller moments in life. They also provide gluten free, dairy free and egg free products on request. Everything is hand wrapped and comes in cream boxes tied up with farmhouse twine, with handmade labels specially designed for your own requirements.

The Country kitchen was set up in November 2013 by Philippa Searle, a passionate baker whose aim is to create beautiful cakes and healthy snacks for all occasions, and who also loves to experiment with recipes in order to make them healthier without compromising on the taste or texture. The Country Kitchen currently stocks products at The Countryman Inn in Shipley, The Crown Inn at Dial Post, and Wiston Granary in Wiston near Steyning They also provide cupcakes and snack bars to Universal Trailers in Coneyhurst, and cakes to the Knepp Castle Estate in Shipley.
