Local Food Sussex - Roasting and blending since 1981, Edgcumbes coffee and tea has been supplying the UK's independent café scene for 40 years from their Sussex roastery.
Founded in 1981, EDGE Tea and Coffee has been roasting and blending speciality coffee and tea for over 40 years.
As an independent family-run business going back three generations, they believe fresh is best; always using speciality beans roasted on site allows customers all over the UK to enjoy the world's top 5% of coffee.
Winners of over 20 Great Taste Awards across the EDGE loose-leaf tea and coffee range, the roastery only stocks speciality products that have been hand-picked and imported from single estates and co-operatives all over the world, as well as a range of barista-style equipment to suit any brewing method.
Sustainability is in the DNA of EDGE Tea & Coffee, which is why they have installed a refillery scheme. Customers are rewarded for bringing in old coffee bags or containers into the EDGE store with discounted fresh beans, which can be freshly ground if needed.
They offer online ordering through their website where you can have your order delivered to your door or click and collect for free. Alternatively, you're more than welcome to pop in and speak to the expert store team who will always be more than happy to share knowledge with you.
The Old Barn in Ford Lane is home to Edgcumbes Roastery, Café and Shop as well as their BSA accredited training facility. If you're a keen coffee enthusiast, they offer ‘Home Barista’ training courses where you can learn everything you need to know about brewing barista style coffee at home.
The EDGE Store and Café are dog friendly, so make it a popular dog walk destination. Plus there's a large car park and bike racks for cyclists.
The Café on the outskirts of Arundel and Littlehampton boasts hand-prepared savouries, fresh cakes and pastries, and all their products are sourced locally to ensure the highest quality.
With both inside and outside seating there is plenty of room for visitors, as well as having free Wi-Fi for remote workers to pop by.
Local Food Sussex says
Headed up by Alice and Christopher Rendle, Edgcumbes is an independent family business that was ahead of the curve with Britain's love for speciality coffee and they continue to innovate today with their onsite Edge Café, farm shop stocking Sussex produce and subscription service.
They will even grind the beans or mix the leaves for you right there and then when visiting the Edgcumbes roastery – and you really can’t get fresher than that!
We promise that we will never, ever pass your details to anyone else or overwhelm you with emails – we send one a month, occasionally two (unless we have something really amazing that we think you will want to know about straightaway!).
And we will always make it really easy for you to unsubscribe – one click, straight from the email. We never want to lose our readers but we know how hugely irritating it is when the unsubscribe facility is made as difficult to use as possible..
