Brighton is a bustling town on the coast of East Sussex. Brighton has more than 400 restaurants, a multitude of museums - including the Brighton Fishing Museum, several theatres and is home to the country's oldest purpose-built cinema – the Duke of York's Picturehouse, which dates back to 1910.

Brighton plays host to numerous festivals each year. Food and drink related festivals include the traditional Blessing of the Fisheries, Fiery Foods Chilli Festival and the twice yearly Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival – the largest foodie festival in the south of England. The main Sussex beer festival is held in nearby Hove. Brighton is famous for 'The Lanes' - a retail, leisure and residential area near the seafront. The Lanes are characterised by narrow alleyways following the street pattern of the original fishing village.
