Chocolate is synonymous with Easter, and these gooey mocha brownies are little squares of chocolate heaven! Deceptively simple to make, once cooled, cut them into squares, pop in a pretty jar and tie with ribbon for a unique Easter gift.

dark or milk chocolate chips or pieces

- Preheat the oven to 160c fan and line a 9” inch/23cm square tin
- Melt the butter and chocolate together in a pan over a low heat, stirring a few times
- When melted add the sugar and stir gently until mixed
- Cool slightly and add the beaten eggs, vanilla paste and coffee
- Fold in the flour, sea salt and chocolate pieces
- Pour into a tin and bake for 20 minutes for gooey brownies
- Once cool, cut into squares
- If making for a present, pop the brownies into a clean kilner jar, decorate with ribbon and add a tag with your personal greeting.
