A roadside diner on the A29 at Billingshurst has been named the village’s number one place to eat by the world’s largest travel website, TripAdvisor. Chef-proprietor Billy Willison at Billy's On The Road says she is thrilled to be awarded a Certificate of Excellence, and that she'll keep on striving to be the best.
"We're very proud to have been presented with the Certificate of Excellence as it's all based on the feedback of the people who come and eat with us," Billy explains. She has been in the restaurant trade for more than three decades, and says her experience has taught her that nothing is more important than great service, good food and value for money. "Earning this Certificate is a sign that we're getting it right and this is not just for me, it’s for my amazing team as well!" she adds.
Recent reviews on TripAdvisor have described Billy's On The Road as 'near legendary status' and a 'hidden jewel', while Karen S asks, "Why can't all roadside cafés be this good?" Another visitor makes particular mention of Billy's 'brilliant' breakfasts, which have fans in both local regulars and passing travellers, and notes the more exotic Mexican and Italian options.
"We really want to thank all the people who have taken the time to leave a review," says Billy. "We're so grateful to all of our customers for visiting us in 2015, and we're looking forward to welcoming even more people in 2016."
