The official definition is food (or farming methods) that’s been produced or involved production without the use of chemical fertilisers, pesticides or other artificial chemicals. When you buy organic food or drink in Britain this means you can be assured they have been produced in accordance with the baseline EU organic regulations. Our tip is to look out for the Soil Association logo. The Soil Association is a charity which promotes and develops sustainable approaches to food, farming and other products. It runs an organic standards setting programme, which regularly updates rules and regulations for organic production.
