The area of Wapping is situated on the north bank of the River Thames and encompasses London's Docklands area. This part of town has a longstanding shipping heritage and was part of the Port of London, once the world's largest port.

The vast riverside warehouses built to hold imports of sugar, tobacco and other exotic goods are nowadays more likely to contain luxury flats and offices. Wapping is also known for being the former home of Rupert Murdoch's News International printing and publishing works.

Must-visit attractions include The Museum of Docklands London, a 200-year-old former sugar warehouse which covers the capital’s history through stories of trade, migration and commerce. You can also find Mudchute Park and Farm, which is located within the middle of the Isle of Dogs and covers 32 acres of land. Established by the local island community, the farm preserves the natural environment of the Mudchute and provides education and training for young people.
