Comprising farmland, forest and woodland, The Balcombe Estate is a 3,500-acre traditional family-run estate surrounding Balcombe village, West Sussex in the High Weald AONB.

At the heart of the estate, you will find their Balcombe Estate Game Shop, where they sell game produced on the estate, as well as a variety of local produce supporting small food and drink businesses in Sussex and surrounding counties.

Specialists in seasonal produce, the Game Shop is a showcase of rich venison and fresh duck, pheasant and partridge, as well as a range of tasty condiments to pair them all with.

Their delicious Balcombe Estate wild venison burgers and sausages are available all year round too, while the biltong they sell in the shop is expertly made on the farm by The Sussex Biltong Co.

Highly sustainable, game is perfect for oven roasting, curries and so much more. It’s high in protein and low in fat and cholesterol, which makes game a healthy choice for your family.

Local Food Sussex says

The village of Balcombe and its stunning Sussex countryside is a lovely destination at any point of the year, and the Balcombe Estate Game Shop is well worth a detour for those looking to enjoy a seasonal taste of the area.

With all the game sourced from the family-owned estate, as well as produce from farms that are less than 20 minutes drive from the doors, it really doesn't get much more local than this.
