Buy free-range beef and lamb direct from the farm. Butterbox Farm specialises in producing high quality beef, lamb, hogget, and mutton from their home-bred rare and traditional British breeds of livestock. Order through their flexible meat box scheme and collect from the farm which is located at Scaynes Hill near Haywards Heath.
Butterbox Farm follows the principles of organic meat farming, though they have chosen not to apply for organic status. They manage their land and livestock for sustainable productivity and conservation of wildlife and the environment. Farmyard manure replaces artificial fertiliser wherever possible, and weeds are controlled as far as possible by cutting, topping and spot spraying.
Beef herds are Dexter and Sussex. New season lamb comes from Romney Sheep and the hogget from the Romneys or the rare breed of Portland Sheep. Both breeds produce excellent flavoursome meat.
