Modern European in style with British ingredients and French flair at its heart, London House is one of Surrey’s best restaurants and has been recognised by the Michelin Guide since 2012.
Having moved to West Byfleet from their first incarnation of London House restaurant in Old Woking, owners Ben Piette and Lornette Valentine have quickly transformed their new home.
In fact, the restaurant is now sandwiched between a wine and cocktail bar called Camouflage and The Pantry deli on the other side, and both are part of London House’s foodie empire.
A former MasterChef: The Professionals semi-finalist and a regular at Woking Food and Drink Festival, Ben and his team of chefs produce creative and delicious set menus of two, three or four courses using the best seasonal ingredients. Their focus is on provenance, seasonality and creativity.
As well as an excellent selection of French and international wines, London House also boasts English sparkling wines from Surrey's Greyfriars Vineyard on its wine list.
For an extra special treat, London House boasts a chef’s table which is hidden away on the kitchen side of a viewing window that means the culinary flair in the kitchen is always on show.
The chef's table is available on Fridays and Saturdays and offers a special menu, priced at £69, featuring six off-menu courses and extras. It's a little like sitting in on MasterChef: The Professionals Live.
London House is also available for exclusive hire and is able to cater for larger parties, offering either a sit-down meal with drinks reception or stand up with bowl food and hot canapés, for up to 80 people.
So, whether you’re looking for a romantic night for two or hoping to treat family and friends, set your sav nav to West Byfleet for your next food and drink adventure.
London House's cooking studio
Have you always wanted to learn how the best chefs work their magic in the kitchen? Well you can get hands on with London House’s The Cooking Studio, which takes place on a number of dates throughout the year. The day starts off with tea, coffee and pastries at The Pantry and then you learn to prepare two of Ben’s seasonal recipes before sitting down to enjoy them with a glass of wine. See the London House website for more information.
Local Food Surrey says
With a focus on provenance, seasonality and creativity, London House is a hugely exciting restaurant that is well worth a journey. Formerly a head of hospitality for Absolute Taste at McLaren and a MasterChef: The Professionals semi-finalist, Ben Piette and his team have an exciting pedigree.
We love their theatrical window in the dining room, which offers a behind the scenes peek at the workings of a professional kitchen and the produce they use.
We promise that we will never, ever pass your details to anyone else or overwhelm you with emails – we send one a month, occasionally two (unless we have something really amazing that we think you will want to know about straightaway!).
And we will always make it really easy for you to unsubscribe – one click, straight from the email. We never want to lose our readers but we know how hugely irritating it is when the unsubscribe facility is made as difficult to use as possible..
