Simon’s Free Range Eggs is a family run farm in Hookwood, between Horley and Reigate, Surrey.

The Cox family is committed to ensuring the very best welfare of the 4,000 hens which live on the farm and are proud to say that they are truly free range and that no fertilisers, pesticides or antibiotics are used on the chickens or grasslands where they live.

Simon's Free Range Eggs are renowned for having good strong shells and a golden yolks that sit proud.

The eggs can be bought direct from the family's own farm shop at Moat Farm Hookwood near Horley, as well as at farmers markets, butchers, delis, and other fine food retailers across Surrey and Sussex. They are also available from Food Float in Dorking High Street.

In fact, the farm shop is definitely worth a visit, not just for eggs but also for its inspiring range of local and regional produce

simons_eggs_with_TC_150.jpgWe were delighted to meet Hazel of Simon's Free Range Eggs - here she is with Local Food Britain founder Tracy Carroll and fellow members Robert Hewitt of Robert and Edwards Butchers, Reigate (who stocks the eggs) and Chris Robinson of Chalk Hills Bakery.

It's good to know that the chickens live by the five freedoms as laid out in the Welfare for Livestock standards: free from hunger and thirst; free from pain, injury or disease; free to express natural behaviour and free from fear or distress. Oh, and the eggs taste GREAT!
