Kent’s original vineyard, the family-owned Biddenden has launched a sparkling apple juice as the newest addition to its range of drinks produced in the heart of the Garden of England, Kent.

Biddenden Sparkling Apple Juice is made using 100% fruit juice with no added water or sugar and without any juice from concentrate – the first and only sparkling juice in the UK to be made in this way.

Celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2019, over the years Biddenden has built strong relationships with local farms, where orchard ripe fruit is grown before being pressed on site at Biddenden as a pure, 100% apple juice.

A light sparkle is added to the juice to produce a refreshing drink which may be enjoyed chilled on its own or as a delicious mixer.

“We are very excited to be adding this new juice to our range, especially as there is no one else in the country who is producing a sparkling not from concentrate apple juice with absolutely no added water,” says Biddenden Vineyards general manager, Tom Barnes.

“The non-alcoholic drinks market is growing rapidly, with high demand for soft drinks which are full of flavour but without added sugar or flavours and our new sparkling apple juice provides the perfect fit both for at home as well as in a pub or restaurant setting.”

The juice is available in 250ml glass bottles from Biddenden Vineyards’ shop and online for home delivery, as well as from independent stockists throughout Kent and the South East.

Award-winning English wine

Visit Biddenden and you’ll find eleven varieties of grapes, which are grown across 23 acres and help to produce award-winning white, red, rosé and sparkling English wines. Ortega, Biddenden’s signature wine, accounts for approximately half of the vineyards.

Approximately 80,000 bottles of wine are produced by Biddenden each year and all the grapes are estate grown, with all vine work and picking carried out by hand to ensure that the very best quality grapes are selected to produce Biddenden’s wines.

Pressing, fermentation and bottling is also carried out on site, and the majority of wines are sold directly from the cellar door.

The famous Biddenden Cider is also produced on site to the Barnes traditional family recipe, using locally grown culinary and dessert apples along with farm-pressed Kentish apple and pear juices including Clearly Juice, a range of clear, wine-like juices.

Visitors are welcome at the vineyard year-round and are free to walk the vineyards on a self-guided tour, or join an open tour which runs every Saturday from April to September, providing an excellent introduction to Biddenden.

For a more personal experience, private tours are also available by prior arrangement.
