Sussex Chef, headed up by husband-and-wife team Ben and Clare Horle, is not your average catering business. The couple take great care to source ingredients locally, and to support producers from Sussex, Surrey and Kent. 

Ben, a highly-skilled chef with some 15 years’ experience, explains why this is important. “There is absolutely no doubt that the ingredients you start with have a huge effect on the end result,” he says. “Clare and I insist on knowing the provenance of the ingredients we serve, ensure meat has been carefully reared at local farms, fish arrives fresh from the Sussex coast and milk and cheese come from nearby dairies. Our customers care about this too, not just because our food tastes amazing but because they know that buying locally gives a tremendous boost to the local economy and makes a real difference to small, independent producers.”
