Priory Farm Shop is an Aladdin's cave of fine food and drinks, many created in Surrey by artisan producers and farmers. The deli alone is worth a trip - feast your eyes on the tempting display of wonderful cheeses, pastries, olives and anti pasti. There are always tastings on offer, so just ask if you would like to try before you buy. There is also a master butcher, who makes the most amazing sausages, a fresh fruit and vegetable area and breads baked on-site by traditional bakery Chalk Hills.
What is great about your business?
Priory Farm is part of the community. The farm has been in the Shinner family since 1957, and has been enjoyed by generations of local people. There is simply nowhere like it, and the farm's commitment to supporting "local" is at the heart of everything we do.
How do you contribute to the local food scene in Surrey?
We bring our customers produce that they won't find in the supermarkets, including, in season, some grown here at the Farm, such as apples, pumpkins, runner beans and raspberries. Because we don't demand huge stock commitments, we are able to work with truly small producers, such as the local beekeeper who provides us with Priory Farm honey (the bees are kept on the farm, so it is REALLY local!). By offering tastings and giving out recipes, we also enable people to discover new flavours and try foods they may not have tasted before.

Fishmonger - every Thursday, Friday and Saturday
Priory Farm welcomes award-winning fishmonger and Local Food Sussex member Veasey and Sons to the farm shop each Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 9.30am and 2.30pm, with a selection of fish and seafood caught on its own day boat off the Sussex coast, and from further afield. Orders can be placed for collection from Priory Farm by calling Veasey and Sons' shop in Forest Row on 01342 822906.
Opposite Priory Farm Shop is the farm's Discovery Walk - an interactive nature trail and party venue. Also on-site (yet now separately owned and managed) is Priory Farm Nursery, a garden centre well worth a visit, which has a coffee shop and children's play area.
Local Food Surrey says:
Priory Farm Shop is a one-off. Every visit is a real joy as the place has a special ambience that just can't be manufactured. Grab a basket on your way in - you'll need it! Dame Judi Dench is a huge fan.
We promise that we will never, ever pass your details to anyone else or overwhelm you with emails – we send one a month, occasionally two (unless we have something really amazing that we think you will want to know about straightaway!).
And we will always make it really easy for you to unsubscribe – one click, straight from the email. We never want to lose our readers but we know how hugely irritating it is when the unsubscribe facility is made as difficult to use as possible..
