Oxted is getting ready for a taste of la dolce vita when Italia In Piazza, the real Italian food market, visits the town centre on Saturday 20th May. Bringing together a tempting selection of the finest authentic produce from all over Italy, the Italian Market will be another first for Oxted organised by the Oxted Business Improvement District (BID), known as Love Oxted. Amongst the stalls, shoppers can expect to find the likes of speciality pasta and sauces, extra virgin olive oils and fresh olives from Puglia and a wide variety of cheeses and torrone (Italian nougat) from Lombardy. Sweet pastries, cakes and biscuits, artisan breads, herbs and spices and a selection of classic Italian cured meats and salami complete the choice of produce available to buy and take home. But for those looking for more immediate satisfaction of their Italian food cravings, there will also be a selection of freshly-made, traditional street food.The market will take place on the station forecourt.
