There’s never been a better time to know exactly what's gone into your food, and at Holwood Farm Shop and Deli in Keston, husband and wife Gary Mercer and Sarah Clout offer food for thought – and food with thought.
So, whether you’re popping in for your weekly groceries, ingredients for a special meal, a celebration cake, or a regional hunk (cheese that is!), the Holwood difference is that you can be assured everything is sourced from trusted producers. Most are based in Kent and neighbouring counties.
As well as a scrumptious selection of seasonal fruit and vegetables, there’s also a meaty selection of British charcuterie, including chorizo, air-dried hams, cured bacon and salami; a tempting range of bread baked on the premises; free-range local meat from Park Farm at Hawkshurst and handmade, oven-ready meals from Ginger’s Kitchen. Gary and Sarah speak to their suppliers on a regular basis, finding out what’s good to eat now, so you have a fresh-as-a-daisy choice.
Many of the items available at the farm shop are also on the menu at the bustling first-floor coffee shop, where you can relax with the Sunday papers, locally roasted coffee and a slice, or tuck into meat and cheese platters, handmade Scotch eggs and afternoon tea. What’s more, on sunny days, you can enjoy it all alfresco in a new outdoor seating area. The venue is popular with cyclists and there is a dedicated bike park, with locks.

We promise that we will never, ever pass your details to anyone else or overwhelm you with emails – we send one a month, occasionally two (unless we have something really amazing that we think you will want to know about straightaway!).
And we will always make it really easy for you to unsubscribe – one click, straight from the email. We never want to lose our readers but we know how hugely irritating it is when the unsubscribe facility is made as difficult to use as possible..
